2016 - Supporting Equality Utah
$500 raised for Equality Utah
Over dinner one night, Alan pitched the idea of making pies and giving them to people who donated to a charity of the kids choosing. The kids agreed it would be a fun project and without a lot of discussion decided that Equality Utah would be the organization we'd support. In the weeks and months prior, there had been news reports about a high percent of homeless youth that had been rejected from their family's home because they were gay. Equality Utah was helping these teens get basic necessities like clothing, sleeping bags and other essential items.
Soon a few Facebook posts were posted on Alan's wall and several friends and family donated to Equality Utah. $500 was raised and 17 pies were made and delivered.
